Title (Begins With); Serial Title (Begins With)

If you know what your title or serial title begins with, a Title (Begins With) or a Serial Title (Begins With) search is the quickest search to use.

When you are doing a Title (Begins With) or a Serial Title (Begins With) search in general you must omit initial articles such as The, A, An, Le, La and L'. There are occasional exceptions so if your search does not work it is worth trying again with the initial article included.

A Begins With search will display an alphabetical list of titles starting with the words you enter.

To find material on wellington using a Title (Begins With) search:

Type wellington in the Search for box
Using the drop down menu select Title (Begins With) from the Using box
Click on the Search button
From the Titles List click on a title to see the Quick View record which lists New Zealand libraries that hold the item.

To find the journal of applied psychology using a Serial (Begins With) search:

Type journal of applied in the Search for box
Using the drop down menu select Serial Title (Begins With) from the Using box
Click the Search button
From the Titles List click on a title to see the Quick View record which lists New Zealand libraries that hold the item.
